FIRE BAN LIFTED

Please be advised that the Municipality of Souris-Glenwood is removing it's fire ban as follows:
 
  1. Municipality of Souris-Glenwood
  2. Details: Level 1 (Low)
  3. All burning that complies with the Souris-Glenwood Burn By-law 76-2025 is permitted (see as follows):
  • the fire is enclosed on all sides by a fire pit constructed of masonry, concrete, heavy gauge metal or other non-combustible materials;
  • the fire is always kept under control;
  • an adequate supply of water, sand or some other means of controlling and extinguishing the fire is readily accessible;
  • the fire is not set or maintained in conditions or locations which will or could result in:
- smoke which causes a nuisance or irritation to people on adjacent properties;
- reduced visibility on any highway or road;
  • a rapid spread of fire through grass or brushed areas.
  • if the fire becomes uncontrollable or spreads beyond its assigned limits, the Souris-Glenwood Fire Department is alerted by calling 911; and
  • only clean, dry, unpainted, and untreated wood is burned.

2023 Audited Financial Statements Available for Review

Public Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Section 194 of the Municipal Act of Manitoba, the audited financial statement for the Municipality of Souris-Glenwood for the year ended December 31, 2023 have been audited and are available for inspection by any person during regular office hours at the Municipality of Souris-Glenwood office, 100 2nd Street South, Souris, Manitoba, and that any persons may, at their own expense, make copies thereof.
