River Recreation
Let the gentle waters of the Souris River dance across your finger tips as you enjoy a winding route through our community which offers a unique perspective of our past and present.
Boat, water ski, canoe, swim or even fish from the banks of this waterway which has played such a key role in our storied history. In winter, the frozen river is also a common venue for snowmobiling. The dock is located in Victoria Park, but all river goers need to exercise caution when venturing downstream. Souris has a dangerous dam located on the east end of town. There are warning signs to show when you are approaching the area.
If fishing from the dam area, users are advised to stay off the cement pads and away from steep embankments due to the aggressive and turbulent current caused by the water flow.
