Dust Control

The Municipality of Souris-Glenwood offers a user pay dust control program. The Dust Control product that is applied to the roads is used to control the dust not to eliminate it completely. 

General Information about Dust Control:

• The products adhere to the gravel surface when applied.

• The products retain moisture to weigh down dust particles not allowing it to be airborne when traffic travels down controlled areas.

• Dust Control typically is applied after the gravelling program is complete to improve the chance of effectiveness. 

• The Public Works Department tries to complete application on all locations in one day. Depending on weather and road conditions, the application may be spread over a week. 

To limit confusion of the requested application area we ask that RURAL residents pound in stakes on the shoulder of the road to indicate the boundaries (start and finish) they wish to have dust control product applied to. 

We ask that any RURAL residents of the Municipality who want dust control applied to a Municipal road or private lane contact the Municipal Office for the Request For Application of Dust Control Product or CLICK HERE to download the application.
