Mandate Statement

The Municipality of Souris–Glenwood is mandated to provide essential municipal services, manage public assets and finances responsibly, regulate land use and development, and uphold transparent and accountable governance in accordance with provincial legislation and municipal by‑laws. The Municipality shall deliver services that support public safety, environmental stewardship, community well‑being, economic stability, and sustainable growth for the benefit of all residents.


Vision Statement

The Municipality of Souris–Glenwood is a vibrant, welcoming rural community that values its natural environment, strong agricultural roots, thriving local businesses, and high quality of life. We envision a community with safe and diverse neighbourhoods, a lively and resilient downtown, well‑maintained infrastructure and public spaces, and opportunities for residents of all ages to live, work, and succeed.


Mission Statement

The Municipality of Souris–Glenwood is committed to delivering reliable, efficient, and fiscally responsible municipal services that enhance the well‑being of our residents and support long‑term community sustainability. We will achieve this by: providing responsive and transparent governance; planning proactively for responsible growth and development; managing municipal assets and infrastructure using evidence‑based, long‑term approaches; ensuring environmental stewardship and protection of natural areas; supporting a strong local economy and a healthy, active community; and collaborating with regional partners when shared solutions improve service delivery and value.
